Our new Luxe sneakers

We’ve just added two new “Luxe” barefoot shoe styles to our product range:

Droptop Luxe - our slip-on sneaker style without laces (available here)
Highrise Luxe - our popular high top sneaker style (available here)

Both new styles share the same materials and colors as our popular Original Luxe barefoot sneaker that we released in August 2021, hence the same name suffix. The Luxe styles are the premium minimalist sneakers among our Original, Droptop, and Highrise styles. Soft faux leather and our super flexible sole provide maximum barefoot feel. With their velvety vegan microsuede lining and additional sole stitching for extra durability, the Luxe are your high-quality sneakers with a minimalistic, timeless design.

Color options

All three Luxe styles are available in All Black, All White, and Black & White.

Edit: Later in 2022, we added the colors Gum Black and Gum White colors for all Luxe sneaker models.

Materials

The upper is made from soft textile leather, which is 100% vegan, like all the materials used for Feelgrounds barefoot shoes. The inner lining matches the upper color and is composed of velvety microsuede. The laces (100% recycled PET) and our popular sole (stack height only 5 mm / ​​0.2 in) have already proven themselves for our Mesh & Knit styles.

Sizing

All Droptop, Original, and Highrise models share the same sole. Therefore, their sole dimensions are identical. The Luxe models run true to size. Most customers wear the same size as in other Feelgrounds sneaker models. If you are a barefoot shoe beginner or have low-volume feet, you might consider inserting one of our insoles.

For somebody, who hasn’t tried Feelgrounds before, we recommend our Original Luxe model as it fits almost every foot volume thanks to its low-cut style and the laces for maximum adjustability. Our popular Highrise style also fits both high and low volume feet well (although people with high-volume feet can expect having to unlace the first few eyelets to slide it). Our lace-less Droptop style on the other hand is perfect for medium to high volume feet and super easy to slip on. If your feet are low volume, and you would still like to try the Droptop, we definitely recommend adding an insole.

Water-repellency & breathability

Distinguishing for the Feelgrounds Luxe styles is the soft faux leather. Therefore, it’s naturally not as breathable as, for example, our Mesh or Knit styles. However, the advantage of the Luxe's upper material is that it has excellent water-repellent properties. Please note that water-repellant does not equal waterproof.

Care instructions for faux leather

Clean your Luxe shoes by first removing loose dirt with a soft shoe brush. Then use a mild detergent with some water and a clean brush or sponge. Remove excess product with a damp cloth. After cleaning or becoming wet, simply let the shoes air dry at room temperature. The Luxe styles are not machine washable.

With good care, faux leather can hold up well for several years. It's always good to dry faux leather shoes after they get wet. Don't put them on or too near any radiators as this could make faux leather brittle. Regarding storage during times you don't wear your shoes, it's best to keep them in a well-aired, dry place without exposure to direct sunlight. You can also regularly treat them with care products designed for faux leather (like our 3-in-1 Faux Leather Care) to help keep the faux leather’s elasticity and colorfastness.
